Food for the Stand

I confess to having a bit of a struggle the past couple days. I may even have shed a pouty tear or two because God didn't want to get with my program. Imagine that, the God who created the whole universe may have a better plan than one of the specks of dust in it! Okay, I know that I am more than a speck to Him, but I'm still pouting here...
I was reminded that the Valkyrie has not Sung even still! Which for those of you who don't follow opera, it means the fat lady has not sung yet. God is still on the throne and He is still working. But I guess this is where we stop and say...but God. That's really it isn't it? But God... We have so much to stand on, we have the Word of God. 66 books of living Word. The kind that made Noah build a boat in the desert for a 120 years when they didn't know what rain was. The kind that made Elijah dump extra buckets of water on a sacrifice and taunt the other guys about their god going potty. Really, can't we, okay, I mean me, stand for however long He takes?
Tomorrow, no matter the outcome when the sun sets I will still be a Bible reading, Word believing, prayer spouting daughter of the Most High God and I have drawn a line in the sand that resounds with the words of Martin Luther "If, then, I am not convinced by proof from Holy Scripture, or by cogent reasons, if I am not satisfied by the very text I have cited, and if my judgment is not in this way brought into subjection to God’s word, I neither can nor will retract anything; for it cannot be either safe or honest for a Christian to speak against his conscience. Here I stand; I cannot do otherwise; God help me! Amen"
So what is this situation you ask? Does it matter? We all face situations where we have to take a stand, whether emotionally, physically or spiritually. Sometimes it will even be at the cost of our lives, such as the potential one that Martin Luther faced, or even the actual cost of the martyrs. Ask them if their stand was easy. Each of us has a place where we too must draw a line in the sand. Whatever your situation is today I pray God meets you there and you feel Him helping you stand - because I assure you He is there!
